Aprilia SR 160 & SR 125 Launched In India - Prices Start At Rs 1.08 Lakh

The new Aprilia SR range features updated styling and a few added features compared to the previous gen scooters. The new Aprilia SR 125 and SR 160 sport a redesigned front end with new V shaped LED headlights and a revised front apron. The handlebar cowl has been tweaked as well and sports new vent like recesses along with the regular turn indicators.

The new scooters also feature split seats and revised grab rails along with a new design for the fully LED taillight. Also new are the tyres which are now CEATs instead of the previous gen scooter lineups MRF units.

Also new on the SR scooters is the fully digital instrument LCD display. The new display gives the rider information about the bike's overall mileage, average speed, top speed, current speed, fuel metre, two trip Meters, odometer along with engine oil temperature, external temperature, ABS indicator, instant mileage and surprisingly a tachometer.

The SR 160's other mechanical parts remain unchanged with the 160.03cc three valve, fuel injected, single cylinder engine still producing 10.84bhp at 7600rpm and 11.6Nm at 6000rpm. The engine is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. The SR 160 sports a 7-litre fuel tank.

The SR 125 also retains its powerplant with the 124.45cc engine cranking out 9.78 bhp at 7,700 rpm and 9.7Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The fuel injected engine is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. The SR 125 sports a 6-litre fuel tank.

The Aprilia SR 160 features a steel frame with telescopic front forks at the front. The rear end features a mono shock to take care of the rough stuff. The Aprilia SR 160 sports a single 160mm disc brake at the front while the rear is bought to a halt by a 140mm drum brake. The brakes are assisted by single-channel ABS.

Thoughts On The New SR 125 & SR 160

Aprilia SR lineup of scooters always had an air of raciness with them. However, over the years, the design had started to look a bit dated. Thankfully Aprilia has changed it all up with the new SR 125 and SR 160 which should get the interest in them going once again.
