2021 Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid & Street Rally 125 Hybrid Launched In India At Rs 76,830
Yamaha launches the 2021 Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid and the 2021 Yamaha Street Rally 125 Hybrid scooters in India. New scooters are priced at Rs 76,830 and Rs 83,830, (ex-showroom, India).
Both the scooters sport an engine start system, automatic start/stop system, side stand cut-off switch, multi-function key with seat opener, wider 110mm rear tyres and a large and practical 21-litre under-seat storage.
Powering the new 2021 Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and the 2021 Yamaha Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid scooters the same 125cc blue core engine which now produces a respectable 8.2PS of power at 6500rpm and 10.3Nm of torque at 5000rpm.
Though these numbers may not seem like much on paper, the low kerb weight of 99kgs can counteract the deficiency of outright power with a better Power-to-Weight ratio. Another advantage of having a lower kerb weight is the positive impact on fuel efficiency by a considerable margin.
Speaking of efficiency, the Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid scooters come with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) to further improve fuel efficiency.
According to Yamaha, the SMG functions as an electric motor to assist the internal combustion during the initial three seconds after start-out. For safety, the motor will cut the power delivery when the throttle is cut back or the engine rpm exceeds the 'prescribed level'.
An indicator on the uprated digital instrument console will notify the user whenever the Hybrid System is in operation, much like Yamaha's VVA indicator on the outgoing Yamaha R15.
Visually, almost all panels on the new Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid scooters look identical to the existing models. However, the new graphics and shades help freshen up the year-old design.
