Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Spied With Yellow Tank, Twin Pod Cluster, & More: Spy Pics & Details
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been spied again ahead of its launch in India. The motorcycle was spotted without any camouflage while shooting for a commercial at Kutch in Gujarat.
The spy images posted by Mad Biker reveal a contoured yellow tank, a twin-pod instrument cluster, and the ‘Meteor 350' moniker placed on the side panel of the motorcycle.
The upcoming Meteor 350 will feature halogen headlamps, alloy wheels, and a blacked-out exhaust; also revealed from the spy images. The motorcycle seems to be a replacement for the company's Thunderbird X 350 range of motorcycles.
Apart from all the new features, the upcoming Meteor 350 motorcycle is also expected to feature an all-new BS6 compliant engine. The company is said to be working on an OverHead Camshaft (OHC) version of the 346cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. Also, the pre-catalytic converter has been integrated into the exhaust system of the motorcycle, offering a cleaner and a more efficient looking engine and exhaust sections.
The all-new OHC engine from the brand is expected to be more refined, offer better fuel efficiency, and above all, offer an increased performance over the current tappet-valve UCE 346cc engines. The current, BS4 compliant 346cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engines produce 19.1bhp and 28Nm of torque.
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 features telescopic forks at the front and a twin-shock setup at the rear. Braking on the motorcycle will be handled by disc brakes at both ends. The suspension and brakes are expected to be carried forward from the brand's Thunderbird 350X series. The company is also expected to offer dual-channel ABS as standard on the upcoming motorcycle.
Once launched the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will rival the Bajaj Avenger 220 Street, the Jawa 300 and the Jawa Forty-Two in the Indian market. The Meteor 350 is expected to retail between 1.6 and 1.8 lakh ex-showroom (India).
Thoughts About The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Spied Ahead Of Launch
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 carries the same retro-urban cruiser design from the brand's Thunderbird X 350 models. RE's upcoming offering looks like it is based on the company's Thunderbird X models as far as design is concerned, and we expect this to help increase its sales figures.
