Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 Deliveries Begin: Mumbai Gets First Motorcycle
Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield, has official begun deliveries of the all-new Himalayan BS6 models. The company launched the motorcycle under a week ago.
Mumbai based Sanjay Singh appears to be the first to have posted pictures of the delivery over his Facebook account. The first Royal Enfield Himalayan to be delivered features the Rock Red paint scheme.
Royal Enfield's Himalayan BS6 model was first showcased at the EICMA Motor Show 2019, and the motorcycle features multiple upgrades. As always, Royal Enfield has listened to its customers and has tried implementing as much feedback as possible.
First off, are the better looking paint schemes. While the all black, white, and sleet paint schemes suited the motorcycle, the company has made the new BS6 Himalayan models more visually attractive.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 model features a re-deigned instrument cluster with seven tell-tale lights instead of the standard five, a taller windshield, and a dedicated hazard light switch.
The biggest upgrade however, is the switchable ABS that allows for a rider to disengage the ABS over the rear wheel, adding to riding flexibility. In addition, the motorcycle now has a side stand with a larger lean angle allowing for easy mounting and dismounting.
The all-new 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 model continues to feature the same 411cc single-cylinder engine that is seen on the outgoing model. The upgraded engine produces 24.3bhp of power (0.2bhp lesser than before) and 32Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan is priced between Es 1.86 lakh and Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and is available in six colours - Sleet Grey, Snow White, Granite Black, Gravel Grey, Lake Blue, and Rock Red.
In Royal Enfield related news, the manufacturer has officially discontinued the Bullet, Thunderbird, and the Classic range of 500cc motorcycles. They models have been removed from the company's website as well.
Most of the 500cc motorcycles Royal Enfield manufactures were meant for export, but domestic interest in the bikes started back in 2009 with the launch of the AVL engines. However, sales figures justified the call to discontinue. To read more, click here.
Thoughts About Deliveries Beginning For The Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 Models
Good new for fans of the Himalayan motorcycle. The bike is solid, does the job, and impresses at first ride. We're sure the upgrades will be appreciated by owners of the 2020 Himalayan models. And we think the motorcycle is priced very competitively, no doubt there.
