2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400 BS6 Unveiled Globally Ahead Of Expected India Launch: Here Are All Details
Kawasaki has unveiled the 2021 Ninja 400 motorcycle internationally with a few updates. The new motorcycle features an updated engine along with new paint schemes for the MY2021. The engine now becomes Euro 5 compliant.

The Kawasaki Ninja 400 is no longer sold in India after the BS6 emission norms came into effect. However, the 2021 Ninja 400 could make it to the Indian shores, as it is now Euro 5 compliant, which is similar to the BS6 emission norms in the country.

The 2021 Ninja is powered by an updated version of the same engine as seen on the previous model. Kawasaki is yet to announce power and torque figures of the updated engine. The liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder 399cc engine produced a maximum of 48bhp at 10000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 8000rpm in its BS4 format.

We expect the power and torque figures to remain similar on the updated engine. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch. The same setup could also make it to the India-spec model.

The MY2021 Ninja 400 also features a couple of new colour schemes: Pearl Nightshade Teal/Metallic Spark Black, Passion Red, Metallic Graphite Gray/Metallic Magnetic Dark Gray.

The new Turquoise colour of the 2021 Ninja 2021 is the most unique looking colour of the three shades. The upper part of the motorcycle is finished in a turquoise blue, while the lower part including the front faring is in black giving it a two-tone look. White decals are present on the fuel tank, front and rear fairing, and alloy wheels.

The new grey colour option of the 2021 Ninja 400 seems like paint scheme that was available in the Honda CBR 250. However, the decals on the Ninja 400 are subtle. Additionally, the motorcycle comes with the lower part of the front fairing finished in light grey. It also has a green decal on both wheels.

The Passion Red looks standard yet aggressive with a couple of trim pieces covered in a black paint scheme. The alloy wheels feature white pinstriping as well. Whether Kawasaki will bring all the new colour to the Indian market remains to be seen.

All other hardware on the 2021 motorcycle has been carried over from the previous model. It continues to use a Trellis frame along with 41mm telescopic frocks at the front and a mono-shock setup at the rear.

Braking on the motorcycle is done via 310mm and 220mm petal disc brake at front and rear, respectively. Other features on the motorcycles include LED headlamps LED tail lamp, dual-channel ABS and more.

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400 is expected to arrive in India sometime in this year or early next year. Once launched, the updated motorcycle will continue to rival the KTM RC 390 in the Indian market.

Thoughts About The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400 BS6
Kawasaki has not tampered much with the 2021 Ninja 400 motorcycle. As a result, the new motorcycle could be priced similar to the BS4 motorcycle if and when launched in India. The new Turquoise colour scheme gives the motorcycle a retro touch and makes it appealing to the buyers.
