Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 1.99 Lakh
Benelli India has launched the Imperiale 400 BS6 model in the Indian market. The new BS6-compliant Benelli Imperiale 400 now comes with a starting price of Rs 1.99 lakh, ex-showroom (India). This translates to a price hike of Rs 20,000 over the previous BS4-iteration.

The new Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 model can now be booked online or through any of the brand's dealerships across India for an amount of Rs 6,000. Deliveries for the same are expected to begin sometime in the next month.

The motorcycle was launched in October last year, with a starting price of Rs 1.69 lakh, ex-showroom (India). This translates to an overall price hike of Rs 30,000 for a motorcycle without any major update apart from the BS6 engine.

Having said that the engine carries forward an updated version of the same 374cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 20bhp at 6000rpm and 29Nm of peak torque at 3500rpm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Apart from the BS6 engine update, no other changes have been made. The Imperiale 400 even maintains the same weight as its BS4 model at 205kg. The suspension also continues to be handled by the same 41mm telescopic forks at the front and shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is also handled by 300mm and 240mm discs at the front and rear, respectively; supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.

The motorcycle continues to carry forward the same retro-classic design as well. This includes a tear-drop shaped fuel tank, clean lines, retro-themed analogue instrument cluster, spoke wheels at either end and plenty of chrome all around as well.
The Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 also continues to be offered in the same three colour options as well. This includes Red, Black and Silver.

Thoughts On The Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 Launch In India
The Benelli Imperiale 400 grabbed a lot of attention at the time of its initial launch in the Indian market. The Imperiale 400 is a direct rival to the Jawa Motorcycles and the Royal Enfield Classic 350, both of which have been already updated to the BS6 emission norms in the country.
