Yamaha YZF-R3 Launch Scheduled For 19 December: All Details
Yamaha is preparing to launched a BS-VI complaint version of the YZF-R3 on 19 December 2019. We had speculated earlier that the company would launch the XSR 155, however, the lads at Rushlane have confirmed that the motorcycle is the YZF-R3.

Yamaha has announced earlier that they will start introducing an updated, BS-VI compliant range of scooters and motorcycles starting November 2019. The company sent media invites to a launch event on 19th December 2019. The invite however, has not revealed any details of what product will be launched.

If the product launched is indeed the YZF-R3, it will be Yamaha's first BS-VI complaint motorcycle that will be launched in India. The updated version is already available in multiple international markets.

The all new YZF-R3 features a new dual-LED headlamp, and an all-new front fairing design. Yamaha claims these design changes reduce aerodynamic drag by almost 7 percent. The motorcycle features a more muscular fuel tank, and the lower placed clip-on handlebar offers a dedicated riding position.

The all-new Yamaha YZF-R3 will continue to be powered by the same 321cc, in-line twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, fuel-injected engine that produces 40.8bhp of power, and 29.6Nm of torque.

The new Yamaha YZF-R3 will feature a KYB sourced inverted telescopic forks at the front, and a pre-load adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Yamaha says that this set up offers better stability and control.

The braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends. The motorcycle will feature disc brakes at both ends, with a non-switchable dual-channel ABS offered as a standard. We expect the new Yamaha YZF-R3 to be priced at about Rs 3.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Thoughts About The New Yamaha YZF-R3
Yamaha is truly sticking to its performance motorcycle roots. The company is concentrating heavily on the premium segment and the fact that they are launching the YZF-R3 as the first BS-VI compliant motorcycle speaks volumes about the direction Yamaha is heading towards. We think that the company should have launched BS-VI complaint versions of their 250cc line up first. The 250cc segment is a high volume market. But we're sure Yamaha knows what it doing.
