Apart from the addition of the new colours, no other changes have been made to the motorcycle. Considering the Indonesia-spec Yamaha R15 is almost identical to the one sold in India, we can expect the brand to bring the new colour options to the country as well.

The Yamaha R15 is one of the most popular offerings from the brand in the Indian market. The latest version of the R15 was introduced in India back in 2018 at the Auto Expo. Currently, Yamaha offers the R15 in India with just three paint schemes - Thunder Grey, Racing Blue and Dark Knight.

Both the Indonesian and India-spec models are powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine producing 19.3bhp and 14.7Nm of torque; mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The India-spec Yamaha R15 comes with conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by discs at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS. Yamaha also offers the R15 with a slipper-clutch as standard as well.

The Indonesian-spec Yamaha R15 differs from the Indian-spec with the addition of upside-down front forks. However, the Indonesian-spec does miss out on ABS; a feature made mandatory in India.

Other common features on the Yamaha R15 v3.0 include tank pad, skid plate, frame sliders, seat covers, smartphone charging and a Daytona exhaust muffler.

Thoughts On The Yamaha R15 V3.0 New Colours

The Yamaha R15 has been a very popular entry-level sportbike offering in the Indian market. The motorcycle has been on sale for a long time, bringing in consistent sales to the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer. The Yamaha R15 in the Indian market rivals the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, KTM RC200 and the Suzuki Gixxer SF.
