Royal Enfield Unveils Limited Edition Helmets: Features The Infamous Madras Stripes, DOT Certified
Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has unveiled limited edition helmets. Only 200 of these helmets will be made and they will be offered via an exclusive sale. The helmets feature what is commonly called Madras stripes on them.

The limited edition helmets manufactured by Royal Enfield feature thick and thin golden pinstripes that are usually seen on the company's ‘Standard' models. The stripes are hand painted on to the helmets.

Royal Enfield's limited edition helmets will be available in full face and half face models, and arrive with ISI and DOT certification. Customers who want to own one of these helmets have to register with their name and e-mail addresses over the company's website in order to have access to the exclusive sale.

The golden stripes or Madras stripes are Royal Enfield's tribute to local art and culture, and the company has featured them for decades on their motorcycles. Each stripe is painted over by using a single brush. Thin stripes are painted using the side of the paint brush, while the thicker ones are painted using the full width of the bristles.

Mastering the Madras stripes featured on Royal Enfield motorcycles, and now on limited edition helmets require years of practice, a high level of concentration, and patience. Each stripe is painted over in a single stroke. One could say that the folk who paint these stripes are possibly as close to nirvana as can be.

While new-age machines and robotics can achieve the same task within a few seconds with absolute precision, Royal Enfield has employed local artists over the years to paint the stripes.

Owning one of these limited edition helmets that Royal Enfield is offering via an exclusive sale allows for an extension of the infamous pinstripes on to equipment a rider uses on an almost every day basis, irrespective of what model hes/ she rides.

Thoughts About Royal Enfield's Limited Edition Helmets
Truth be told, these limited edition helmets are for the Royal Enfield fanatic. We reckon folk who buy one of these will, in all likeliness, never use the helmet. We think it has more display value, and is more of a collectors item. So, if you're a Royal Enfield fan-boy or fan-girl, we suggest you register, get one of these, and build a shelf for it in your garage.
