KTM Duke 790 To Launch In India Soon — 790 Duke Models Spotted At Dealerships
KTM Duke 790 spotted at dealerships, indicating a launch in India soon. The KTM 790 Duke models have been spied in certain company dealerships for the first time.
KTM India is all set to launch the 790 Duke in the market. The 2019 KTM Duke 790 has been spotted in company dealerships for the first time, indicating a launch soon. Reports do suggest the KTM could bring the much-awaited middleweight motorcycle to India as early as March 2019.
The spy pics of the KTM Duke 790 shows the motorcycle parked next to a Bajaj Pulsar, indicating it could be in one of KTM and Bajaj warehouses. Another image also shows a KTM banner in the background.
The KTM 790 Duke has been one of the most-awaited motorcycles in the country. The India-spec motorcycle as seen from the spy pics will feature the same raised exhaust and curved radiator, along with the sharp and sporty lines providing an aggressive design to the motorcycle.
The images also showcase the tank extensions, body graphics and the black shade paint scheme. Once launched in India, KTM might also introduce the 790 Duke in the signature Orange paint scheme as well.
The 2019 KTM 790 Duke is powered by a 799cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It produces 105bhp at 9,000rpm and 85Nm of torque at 8,000rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The 790 Duke uses upside down front forks and a monoshock suspension at the rear, both from WP. Braking is handled by a single 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.
The KTM Duke 790 comes with a host of electronic rider aids and features. These include a full-colour TFT instrument cluster, quickshifter, traction control, stability control with cornering ABS, motor slip regulation and four riding modes (Sport, Street, Rain and Track).
There are also reports that certain KTM dealerships across India have already started accepting bookings for the upcoming 790 Duke. These dealers are accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 10,000. The Duke 790 will be brought to India as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kit and assembled at its plant in Chakan, Pune.
Thoughts On The KTM 790 Duke In India
The KTM 790 Duke is one of the most awaited motorcycles in the middleweight segment. Being imported as a CKD unit, we can expect KTM to price the motorcycle competitively in the market. The 790 Duke in India is expected to come with a price tag of under Rs 8 lakh, ex-showroom. Once launched it will rival the likes of the Suzuki GSX-S750 and the Triumph Street Triple.
