Jawa Perak: Top Features To Know About One Of India's First Bobber-Style 300cc Motorcycle
Jawa Motorcycles has just launched the all-new Jawa Perak today and the company's latest offering looks stunning. Jawa also announced that bookings for the motorcycle will be open on 1 January 2020, with deliveries to begin on 2 April.
If you're one of these ‘I don't like a pillion' kind of bikers, or an avid Jawa enthusiast, or are looking forward to owing the all-new Perak, here are the top features of the company's latest offering:
The Most Powerful Jawa Engine (After The Re-launch)
The all new Jawa Perak features the company's most powerful engine to date, after the re-launch of course. The motorcycle arrives with a BS-VI compliant, 334cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 30bhp of power and 31Nm of torque.
While the engine looks about the same size of the engines on the Jawa 300 and the Jawa 42, the one on the Perak arrives with a bigger bore. The Perak has a bore and stroke of 81mm X 90mm as compared to the 65mm X 81mm bore and stroke of the 300, and the 42 - more power.
Segment/ Industry First Design
The Jawa Perak is the first home-grown bobber-style motorcycle. Design elements include a single piece seat that is built as part of the chassis. The chassis itself is very visible giving the motorcycle a bare-to-the-bones, rugged look. A definite must have for a Jawa enthusiast.
Other design elements include a single-pod instrument cluster that looks as retro as can be with black for a dial colour, bar-end rear view mirrors that add more style to the motorcycle, and turn signal indicators that look as cool as the lights on Star Lord's helmet.
Single Colour Option
The just-about launched Jawa Perak is available in just one almost Darth Vader themed colour - Black. In fact, the whole motorcycle (minus the tan seat) receives an all back treatment. This is rarity for a motorcycle today, and that makes the bike much cooler!
History
The all-new Jawa Perak pays tribute to, and named after the original Perak that made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in 1946. The original motorcycle was two-stroke, 248.5cc air-cooled motorcycle that produced 9bhp of power. It was in production until 1955. What makes this interesting is the motorcycle was showcased just after World War II.
Thoughts About The Jawa Perak
This motorcycle comes with a history that makes it a whole lot more interesting. The Jawa Perak looks absolutely stunning, and well crafted. In addition, the motorcycle has bragging rights as India's first bobber. Kudos to the design team at Classic Legends!
