Evolet Electric Scooters Launched In India: Four New EVs With A Starting Price of Rs 39,000
Rissala Electric Motors Pvt Ltd., a new startup electric vehicle company has launched its first e-scooters in India with the Evolet. The company introduced a range of three electric scooters: Polo, Derby and Polo Pony.
The Polo and the Polo Pony are further offered in two variants each. Starting off with the Polo, the two variants include the Polo EZ and the Polo Classic. The Polo EZ is priced at Rs 34,499 and is powered by a 48V 24Ah VRLA battery pack. The Polo Classic is powered by a 48V 24Ah Lithium-ion battery and is priced at Rs 54,499.
The Evolet Derby and the Polo Pony are also powered by similar variants: Derby EZ, Polo Pony EZ, Derby Classic and Polo Pony Classic.
The Polo Pony are powered by the same battery packs as the Evolet Polo. This includes a 48V 24Ah VRLA battery for the Polo Pony EZ and a 48V 24Ah Lithium-ion battery for the Polo Pony Classic. The Polo Pony EZ and the Polo Pony classic are priced at Rs 39,499 and Rs 49,499, respectively.
The Evolet Derby, on the other hand, is powered by a slightly more powerful battery pack. This includes a 60V 30Ah VRLA battery on the Derby EZ, while the Derby Classic comes with a lithium-ion battery with the same ratings. The Derby EZ is priced at Rs 46,499 and the Derby Classic is offered with a price tag of Rs 59,999.
However, all variants of the three electric scooters come with the same range and top speed. All three electric scooters offer a max speed of 25km/h and a range of 60km on a single charge.
In addition to the three electric scooters, Evolet also launched its first electric quad-bike in India. The Evolet Warrior quad bike is available at a price of Rs 1.40 lakh.
It comes with a 72V 40Ah lithium-ion battery and a 3kW electric motor. The combination gives the Warrior quad bike a top speed of 60km/h and a max range of 50km on a single charge. The electric quad bike also features a reverse gear with a speed of 20km/h.
Present at the launch event, Nitin Gadkari, said,
"The government is aggressively promoting renewable resources and electric vehicles to curb pollution. We will do everything that is necessary to make the transition from fuel-based to electric vehicles as smooth as possible. The demand is very high as people are now aware of its benefits and harmful effects of fossil fuels on the environment and human beings. We are working on a multi-pronged approach and hope that soon India will have cleaner air to breath."
Prerana Chaturvedi, spokesperson, Rissala Electric Motors Pvt Ltd, said,
"We want to come up with a product that has no transportation cost and is affordable with good after-sales facility. Through informative marketing, we can educate the masses about e-scooters and ascertain the fact that these vehicles are more beneficial than other types of vehicles available in the market."
In terms of features, the top-spec variants of the electric scooters are IOT-enabled, which provides a host of information to the rider, through a dedicated Evolet app. These features include vehicle and battery health, battery status, GPS and security tracking.
The app can also be used to check when the service for the scooters is due and can also be used to book appointments for the same. The company will also offer the electric scooters with fast chargers, capable of charging the batteries within 3 hours.
Currently, the company will be introducing the electric scooters only in certain parts of India. This includes Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The company will however, introduce the electric scooters pan-India within the next two months.
In the initial phase, the company is targeting Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana markets. The company's spokesperson says that Evolet will be available pan India in the next two months. The price of e-scooters starts at Rs 39,000, and the top end is priced at Rs 59,999.
