Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Now Available At Dealerships; Priced At Rs 1.71 Lakh
The Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition was launched in India in January 2018.
Royal Enfield launched the Himalayan Sleet Edition in India in January 2018. Initially, the Himalayan Sleet Edition was limited to just 500 units and were retailed online. Now, the Himalayan Sleet is available across all the Royal Enfield dealerships in the country.
The Royal Enfield Sleet is priced at Rs 1.71 lakh ex-showroom. Previously, the Himalayan Sleet Edition was retailed with an Explorer Kit and the adventure motorcycle was priced at Rs 2.12 lakh ex-showroom. But now, the Sleet Edition comes as a regular model in the lineup.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition was initially launched with the Explorer Kit which includes panniers, pannier mounting rails, sump guard, off-road style handlebar, crash guard and bar-end weights. Now, all these accessories can be purchased separately for Rs 31,900 at all the dealerships.
The Royal Enfield Sleet is just a cosmetic update and doesn't bring any changes to the mechanical components. The prominent highlight of the Himalayan Sleet is the unique camouflage paint scheme which is inspired by the icy peaks of the Himalayas.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition draws power from the existing 411cc single-cylinder, long-stroke, fuel injected, air/oil-cooled engine producing 24.5bhp and 32Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The adventure bike can reach a top speed of over 120km/h.
The Himalayan is equipped with long-travel telescopic forks at the front and long-travel monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 300mm disc up front and 240mm disc at the rear. The Himalayan is likely to get ABS in India with the new regulations coming into effect in 2019.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is the most affordable adventure motorcycle in India and gets simple and minimalistic design elements. The bike rides on a 21-inch spoke wheel at the front and 18-inch wheel at the rear. The Himalayan features a ground clearance of 220mm for off-roading.
Thoughts On The Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition
The prominent highlight of the Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition is the camouflaged colour scheme inspired by the Himalayas. Apart from that, there are no changes done to the Sleet variant. The Himalayan is the cheapest adventure bike in India and it will face a stiff competition when the Hero Xpulse 200 is introduced in the Indian market.
