Royal Enfield Engine Vibration Reduction Plate Launched By Carberry Motorcycles
Royal Enfield engine vibration reduction plate launched by Carberry Motorcycles.
One of the biggest concerns for a Royal Enfield motorcycle owner is the bike's engine vibration, but that is set to change. The Royal Enfield engine vibration reduction plate has been launched by one of the best custom bike builders Carberry Motorcycles. The plate will help reduce the vibration of the engine; this is exclusive only to the 350cc and 500cc Unit Construction Engine (UCE).
Carberry Motorcycle, who recently launched a V-Twin 1000cc motorcycle in India, launched the engine vibration reduction plate priced at Rs 3,000. The engine vibration reduction plate is designed to support and stabilise the RH crankshaft. Presently, in both the 350cc and 500cc Royal Enfield engines, there are two bearings on the left, while there is one at the right side.
A plate covers the cam wheel on the ride side which comes fitted below the clutch housing. There have been reports that this arrangement causes slight tension of the crankshaft and increased vibrations at higher revs.

Carberry states that the plate is mainly designed to support and stabilise the right-hand side of the crankshaft. The plate is placed or fitted after the gear, which drives the cam wheels. There is an additional bearing installed on the end of the crankshaft, which sits on the vibration reduction plate offering better support.
Additional benefits include minimising the vibrations of the Royal Enfield motorcycle between speeds of 60km to 90kmph, increased the life of the bearings, and reduced can wheel wear and tear as well noise reduction
Thoughts About The Royal Enfield Engine Vibration Reduction Plate
While Royal Enfield owners, as well as its critics, have been complaining about the engine vibrations, the new product by Carberry Motorcycles will aim to reduce the vibrations. So, if you own any of the Royal Enfield models which are powered by the UCE engine, you can check their website and buy one; however, currently, the website states that the product is out of stock but one can send an email listed, and Carberry would be happy to help.
That said, Carberry Motorcycles could have also developed an engine vibration reduction plate for the older iron cast engine. The old Royal Enfield iron cast engine is exemplary in its design and construction; however, at higher RPMs, the engine tends to vibrate. We hope Carberry designs an engine vibration reduction plate for the iron cast engine as well.
