Kawasaki Z900RS launched in India. The retro-naked Kawasaki Z900RS is priced at Rs 15.30 ex-showroom in India. The Z900RS is based on the Kawasaki Z900 but borrows its retro styling cues from the iconic Z1 from the 1970s. The Z900RS is available in two colours in India: Candytone Brown and Candytone Orange.
Powering the Z900RS is the same liquid-cooled, 948cc, in-line four-cylinder engine that produces 109.48bhp @ 8,500rpm (down from 123.29bhp on the Z900) and 98.5Nm of torque @ 6,500rpm.
The engine propelling the Kawasaki Z900RS is paired to a six-speed gearbox. Kawasaki claims that the engine on the Z900RS pulls more strongly under 7,000rpm than the one powering the Z900. Kawasaki has also tuned the sound of the exhaust so that its rumble is more audible while idling and at lower speeds.

The Z900RS features 41mm inverted forks up front and a gas charged monoshock at the rear with both featuring rebound damping and spring pre-load adjustment. The Z900RS sports are handled by 300mm twin discs up front and 250mm disc at the rear which are assisted by ABS.
The design of the Kawasaki Z900RS is rather elegant and the naked motorcycle features a round LED headlamp up front along with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank (capacity 17-litre) along with a flat seat and rear end. The four-into-one exhaust setup is a stainless steel unit which adds to the retro look of the Z900RS.
The Z900RS also features a twin pod-instrument cluster with a digital display in between. The two dials show the speed and the engine revs while the digital display features a gear position indicator, fuel gauge, current and average fuel consumption, range and temperatures. The digital display can also be switched off to give the instrument cluster a more retro look.
