World's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp showcased the new Xtreme 200R naked street fighter at the Auto Expo 2018. The new Hero Xtreme 200R is an evolution of the Hero Xtreme series which is currently retailed with the 150cc engine. The overall design is fresh, and the addition of premium features enhance the appeal of the Xtreme 200R.
Hero Xtreme 200 R Design
The Hero Xtreme 200R is an evolution of the original CBZ Xtreme and still retains the original design elements. Up front, the Hero Xtreme 200R features an elegant headlamp with eyebrow-shape LED DRLs, a small visor and sporty front cowl. The rear view mirrors are sleek and sharp and enhance the overall look of the motorcycle. The muscular fuel tank with shrouds adds to the aggressive look of the Xtreme 200R.
The side profile of the Hero Xtreme 200R features blacked out side panels, engine and an engine belly pan. The single step-up seat, exciting body graphics adds a premium touch to the naked street fighter. The dual-tone colour scheme goes well with the overall design.

The tail section of the new Hero Xtreme 200R features a sporty LED tail light, split grab rail and tapered cowl. The chunky tyre gives the motorcycle a big-bike look. The black exhaust muffler is simple and suits the character of the motorcycle. The rear fender is short and tidy which is a new design element seen of the Xtreme 200R.

Hero Xtreme 200R Engine Details
The Hero Xtreme 200R draws power from an all-new 200c single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 18.1bhp @ 8,500rpm and 17.2Nm of torque @ 6,000rpm. The engine features a balancer shaft and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Hero Xtreme 200R returns a claimed mileage of 39.9kpl as per the World Motorcycle Test Cycle.
Hero Xtreme 200R Features
The Hero Xtreme 200R comes loaded with several premium features such as LED DRLs, LED tail light, analogue-digital instrument cluster and newly designed alloy wheels. The slightly front set footpegs offer a relaxed riding posture. The sculpted tank shrouds and belly pan aids in reducing the aerodynamic drag.
The Hero Xtreme 200R is equipped with 37mm telescopic forks up front and monoshock suspension setup at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 276mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear. Hero is also offering a single-channel ABS on the front wheel as an optional safety feature. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with chunky tyres.
Hero Xtreme 200R Rivals
The Hero Xtreme 200R is a naked street fighter in the popular 200cc segment. The Xtreme 200R will lock horns with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200. It will also compete with the KTM Duke 200, but when it comes to performance, the Xtreme 200R lags behind.

The Hero Xtreme 200R sports an evolved design of the Xtreme series and based on the Xtreme 200S concept which was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. But when we compare with other motorcycles in the market, the Xtreme 200R still lags behind in terms of design and performance. Hero MotoCorp is likely to launch the Xtreme 200R in 2018 with a price tag of around Rs 85,000 ex-showroom.
