World's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp is gearing up for the launch of its new adventure motorcycle, the XPulse 200. Now, the official images of the Hero XPulse 200 have been revealed. The XPulse 200 will be the successor of the 150cc Impulse which was discontinued in the country.
The Hero XPulse concept was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 and now the official images reveal the production-spec bike. The motorcycle features a tall stance with a larger front wheel. The XPulse 200 is equipped with a classic round headlamp but gets LED DRLS.
The Hero XPulse 200 also features a windscreen up front and knuckle guards to protect the levers in case of a fall. The motorcycle is equipped with an engine bash plate to protect the oil sump during off-roading. The rear of the bike gets a luggage rack for long-distance touring.
The Hero XPulse 200 will draw power from a 200cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine producing 18bhp and 17Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The same engine will be employed on the soon to be launched Xtreme 200R. But the engine on the XPulse 200 will be tuned differently.
The Hero XPulse 200 is equipped with long-travel suspension with 190mm travel for the front forks and 180mm travel for the rear monoshock suspension. The adventure motorcycle is shod with 21-inch wheel up front and 19-inch wheel at the rear. The ground clearance of the bike stands at 220mm.
The Hero XPulse 200 will feature disc brakes at both the ends but will get only single-channel ABS. The XPulse 200 will get spoke wheels and it is expected to use tube tyres to keep the costs down. The bike will also get an all-new digital instrument cluster and an engine kill switch.
Thoughts On The Hero XPulse 200
The 150cc Hero Impulse was a hit in the Indian market, but due to its underpowered engine, the sales of the motorcycle dropped drastically. But now, Hero has fixed this issue and will launch the XPulse 200 by the end of this year. The Hero XPulse 200 is likely to be priced around Rs 1 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
