Italian superbike manufacturer Ducati has unveiled a new limited edition Monster 1200 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Monster brand. The new limited edition Monster 1200 will be limited to just 500 units and the motorcycle is named as '25° Anniversario'.
The Ducati Monster 1200 limited edition gets machined components, mechanical parts from the top-spec Monster 1200 R and carbon-fibre parts. The limited edition Monster 1200 is offered with a special colour scheme inspired by the 2008 Monster S4RS Testastretta Tricolore.
The motorcycle features three colours of the Italian flag on the windscreen, fuel tank and the pillion seat cover. The frame of the Ducati Monster special edition is finished in gold colour. The 25th Anniversary edition model is equipped with Marchesini wheels with W-shaped spokes also finished in gold colour.
The Monster also gets machined solid aluminium handlebar-end weights, mirrors and fuel tank cap. The front and the rear mudguards, exhaust heat guard and the keyhole cover are made out of carbon-fibre.
The Ducati Monster 1200 25° Anniversario draws power from a 1,198cc L-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 145bhp and 124Nm of torque. The power figures are identical to the Monster 1220 S. But the rest of the cycle parts are borrowed from the Monster 1200 R.
The Ducati Monster 1200 anniversary edition model is equipped with fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension with a steering damper. The braking duties are handled by a 330mm twin-discs with Brembo M50 monoblock callipers at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear.
The Ducati Monster 1200 limited edition also features Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) supplying data to the Bosch cornering ABS and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC). Other riding aids include Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Quick Shift Up and Down (DQS) and three riding modes: Sport, Touring and Urban.
The Monster 1200 limited edition will be available in Europe from September 2018 and later it will be made available in various markets such as Japan, United States and Australia.
Thoughts On The Ducati Monster 1200 25th Anniversary Edition
The Ducati Monster 1200 is one of the most popular models from the Italian firm. The new Monster 1200 limited edition model is unlikely to come to India as Ducati has not introduced the tops-spec Monster 1200 R in the country. The new limited edition Monster features top-notch components and the performance of the bike will be improved with the use of carbon-fibre bits.
