Cleveland CycleWerks Begins Local Assembly In India
Cleveland CycleWerks has started local assembly of their motorcycles in India. The American motorcycle brand will launch their Misfit and Ace offerings as the first products in India.
American motorcycle brand, Cleveland CycleWerks is all set to enter the Indian market. According to Autocar India, the motorcycle brand has just inaugurated its first assembly plant in Pune, Maharashtra.
Cleveland CycleWerks will launch the Misfit and the Ace as their first two models. The Cleveland Ace will further be available in three variants: Cafe, Deluxe and Scrambler. The two models will be brought into India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit from China and assembled in their new Pune facility.

Both motorcycles, the Misfit and the Ace will be powered by a 229cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces 15.4bhp and 16Nm of torque. The engine will further be mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Cleveland CycleWerks first introduced their motorcycle offerings at the 2018 Auto Expo. The company was formed back in 2009, making it the youngest motorcycle brand in the US. Cleveland CycleWerks once launched in India, will compete against UM Motorcycles.
The Cleveland Misfit

The Misfit offering from Cleveland CycleWerks uses a tubular, steel backbone dual-cradle chassis. The suspension on the motorcycle is handled by upside down forks at the front, along with dual-shock absorbers at the rear. The rear shock absorbers further come with a five-step preload adjustability.
The motorcycle weighs 144kg and comes with a 15-litre fuel tank, 150mm ground clearance and steel rims with wire spokes. The motorcycle comes to a standstill using 320mm and 220mm front and rear discs, respectively.
The Cleveland Ace

The Cleveland Ace gets a square-section, single-downtube frame. The suspension is the same as on the Misfit. This includes USD front forks and a dual-shock absorber at the rear with preload adjustability.
The Ace weighs 133kg and comes with a 14-litre fuel tank, 150 - 180mm ground clearance (depending on the variant) and aluminium wire-spoke rims. Braking on the Ace is handled by 298mm and 210mm disc at the front and rear, respectively.

The American motorcycle brand has already partnered with Laish-Madison Motor Werks, based out of Hyderabad for their production and distribution in India.
