Bajaj Auto launched the 'Haathi Mat Paalo' Dominar ad series last year targeting the Royal Enfield owners. Here, Haathi (Elephant) is referred to Royal Enfield motorcycles, and it means don't raise elephants. Bajaj had already released three videos, and now two new ads have been aired.
The fourth ad of the 'Haathi Mat Paalo' Dominar series targets the lousy headlamp of the Royal Enfield bikes. We all know that the Royal Enfield still uses the age-old headlamps and Bajaj has compared the headlight to the torch, which is apt.
The Royal Enfield riders depicted riding an elephant find themselves in a dark patch of road with torches. And then comes the Dominar's with its bright LED headlights handling the terrain without any difficulty. In reality, the all-LED headlamp of the Dominar 400 is extremely bright as compared to normal halogen headlights.
The fifth ad of the 'Haathi Mat Paalo' series demonstrates the off-roading capabilities of the Dominar 400. In the ad, we can see the RE riders on elephants stranded due to a fallen tree on the road.
And then comes the Dominar riders taking the beaten path to avoid the obstacle on the road. Finally, the group of Dominar riders successfully cross the off-road stretch. The hilarious part of the ad is a Dominar riders offers a banana to an elephant.
Bajaj has been taking a dig on Royal Enfield owners since the launch the Dominar 400 in India. Although the sales are not that great, Bajaj is trying to lure the RE owners to buy the Dominar 400, which is modern and comes with all the bells and whistles.
Recently, Bajaj launched the new 2018 edition of the Dominar 400 with new colour options and alloy wheels finished in golden colour. The Dominar also comes with features such as fully-digital instrument cluster, LED headlamp, slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 draws power from a 373cc, single-cylinder engine which produces 35bhp and 35Nm of torque and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The Dominar 400 is offered in both non-ABS and ABS with prices starting from Rs 1.42 lakh.
DriveSpark's Thoughts On The Bajaj Dominar Haathi Mat Paalo Ads
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is a modern and sporty motorcycle as compared to the Royal Enfield bikes. It comes with several features which the RE's lack. Now, the recent Haathi Mat Paalo ad series has spiced up the brand rivalry in a healthy way. But both the Dominar 400 and Royal Enfield are differently designed bikes, and they cannot be compared.
