Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 Flaunts Its Curves; Spy Image Reveals
The spy shot also reveals that the YZF-R15 V3.0 is using Yamaha’s famous deltabox frame which provides stability and confidence to decimate any corners.
Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is in its final stage of development and a new spy image surfaced on the internet revealing the design of the entry-level sports bike. The new model is scheduled to launch in India later this year.
The new model's design seems to be inspired from the Euro-spec R125. Up front, the YZF-R15 V3.0 has an aggressive fairing and features Upside Down forks (USD). The aluminium swingarm seems to be the same as the outgoing R15 V2.0.
The R15 V3.0 will be powered by a 155cc, fuel injected powerplant which is expected to produce around 20bhp of power and 18Nm of peak torque. The engine is borrowed from Yamaha's NMax scooter and will be mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The spy shot also reveals that the V3.0 is using Yamaha's famous deltabox frame which provides stability and confidence to decimate corners. Other features include LED headlamps and in between, there is a huge air intake. A digital instrument cluster is one of the prime highlights of the model.
The braking duties will be carried out by disc brakes at both ends that are likely to link to an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). The colour scheme of the model will include a new racing blue and grey/red/white combinations.
The current generation YZF-R15 V2.0 is being sold in India at a price of Rs 1.18 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). We can expect Yamaha to price the YZF-R15 V3.0 at around Rs 1.20 lakh - 1.30 lakh.
