Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha has teased its upcoming adventure motorcycle based on the MT-07. The teaser video states that more details will be revealed on September 6, 2017.
The new adventure motorcycle from Yamaha is likely to be the production version of the T7 concept model showcased at the 2016 EICMA Show in Italy.
The Yamaha T7 Concept is a prototype model developed with the help of its motorsport wing, the Yamaha Official Rally Team in France. R&D centre in Italy and GK Design in Netherlands.
The production version of the T7 concept is expected to get a new moniker and will be a basic adventure motorcycle with off-roading capabilities. The motorcycle has been already spotted testing, so expect Yamaha to launch the motorcycle in the near future.
The T7 Concept draws power from a 689cc twin-cylinder engine producing around 75bhp of power. The adventure motorcycle will feature high ground clearance, long travel suspension and lightweight chassis.
The T7 Concept is equipped with aluminium fuel tank, KYB front suspension, carbon fibre fairing and skid plate. But the production variant of the motorcycle is likely to miss out on the high-end components.
The Yamaha adventure motorcycle is likely to be sold as a 2018 model in the global market. If at all Yamaha decides to bring the motorcycle to India, it has to be assembled in the country to keep the costs down. Further details will be revealed on September 6, 2017.
