Yamaha Fazer 25 Launched In India: Priced At Rs 1.28 Lakh

Unlike its smaller sibling, the Fazer 150, the Fazer 25 features an aggressive front-end, owing to the sporty, yet practical fairing. The front fairing of the Fazer 25 blends neatly around the headlight, which is also borrowed from the FZ25.

Sold as the company's entry-level tourer, the Fazer 25 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that does its duty on the FZ25 as well. The engine is tuned to produce 20bhp and 20Nm of torque, with the help of a 5-speed gearbox. The engine power output too, is the same as the Yamaha FZ25. Yamaha claims a mileage figure of 43km/l.

The Fazer 25 is slightly heavier (154kg) than the FZ25 (which weighs 148kg), owing to the extra bodywork like the front fairing. The new Yamaha Fazer 25 is expected to carry forward the nimble handling nature of its naked sibling, which we will elaborate in due course of time once we road-test the motorcycle.

On the features front, the new Fazer 25 will sport telescopic front forks, monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends, 17-inch alloy wheels, 14-litre fuel tank, LED position lights up front, and a multi-functional LED instrument cluster. ABS is not on offer, even as an option.
