Vespa RED India Launch Date Revealed
Piaggio is all set to launch the Vespa RED scooter in the Indian market.
Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Piaggio is all set to launch a new scooter model named as Vespa RED on October 3, 2017, in the Indian market.
Vespa has joined hands with an organisation called as RED, to help people suffering from tuberculosis, AIDS, and malaria. So, the buyer of this particular model will support the cause.
In the global market, the Vespa 946 is offered as a fully red variant and $150 is donated to the organisation when each model is sold. Founded in 2006, the RED has raised more than $450 million for the Global Fund to help people suffering from HIV.
But, Vespa India will not be launching the original 946 RED in India. Instead, the company will introduce RED variant as an addition to the existing 125cc and 150cc scooters in India which includes the VXL, SXL, Elegante and the standard Vespa scooter.

Previously, Piaggio had launched the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani scooter in India with a whopping price tag of Rs 12.04 lakh ex-showroom (Pune). But it was recently discontinued as the partnership between Piaggio and Giorgio Armani came to an end.
The currently sold Vespa scooters in India draws power from a 125cc or 150cc engine producing 11.44bhp and 10.45bhp respectively. Apart from the red colour, the scooters will be identical to the currently sold models.

The Vespa RED will help the people suffering from HIV by donating some amount of money when each model is sold. Currently, the Vespa range of scooter is priced in the range of Rs 71,000 to Rs 97,000. The new RED models could be pricier by Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on the model.
