UM's Adventure Motorcycle Heart Spells Twin Trouble For Enfield
The new 400cc motor is a water-cooled V-Twin unit that will power the upcoming UM Adventure motorcycle.
Last year, American motorcycle manufacturer UM made an announcement that it is working on a V-twin powertrain with an engine displacement of 350cc to 500cc. Then, it was expected that the 400cc mill would power a cruiser or the Scrambler.
According to a report by IndianAutosBlog, Mr Rajeev Mishra, Director Operations UM India & CEO at UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt Ltd confirmed that the engine would displace 400cc.
The new 400cc motor is a water-cooled V-Twin unit that will power the upcoming adventure motorcycle. The adventure oriented motorcycle will feature equipment that is suitable for rough terrain and will provide good off-road experience.
UM is also geared up to launch the UM Renegade Classic, which was showcased at the Auto Expo. The UM dealerships will commence bookings for the cruiser by April this year, and the deliveries will start by May 2017.
Mishra also revealed that the new 400cc V-twin powered adventure motorcycle would be introduced in the fourth quarter of 2017. If the company is not able to unveil the model at that time, we can expect the model to showcased at the Auto Expo 2018.
UM will also offer a new range of Renegade Cruisers which features the 400cc engine. The new Renegade series will make its public debut at the Auto Expo 2018.
