TVS Racing Announces Team For 2017 Indian Baja
The TVS Racing team will compete on 60bhp TVS RTR 450 motorcycles in the two-day rally raid at the 2017 Indian Baja.
TVS Racing announced their team for the 2017 Indian Baja event scheduled to be held on April 8, 2017, from Jaisalmer.
The racing team's star rider, Aravind KP, who had his first outing at the 2017 Dakar Rally, will be competing in the event on a TVS RTR 450. Along with Aravind KP, his 2017 Dakar Rally teammate Adrien Metge from Sherco, winner of Desert Storm 2017, R Nataraj and last year's National Rally champion rider Abdul Wahid Tanveer will participate in the two-day event.
The TVS Racing team will compete on 60bhp TVS RTR 450 motorcycles in the two-day rally raid at the 2017 Indian Baja.
The primary focus is given to obtain ultra-light weight and to minimise friction. TVS Racing team has produced an engine with enhanced torque on the entire rpm range.
Also, the team has modified the port cross section, redesigned camshaft, increased compression ratio and re-tuned ECM to help achieve better performance. The front and rear suspension have been tuned for the riders along with thicker spokes in front and rear wheel assembly.
Talking about the team, B Selvaraj, Head, TVS Racing said "We are thrilled to see our star rider Aravind KP back in the game along with Tanveer and Nataraj who are in top form. The addition of Adrien Metge from Sherco is a big boost to the team as he brings considerable experience to the table and our young racers will be inspired by his presence."
He added, "Look forward to the challenge. We are happy that the event organisers have taken the rally raid to the next level so that it is now considered to be a part of the Dakar Challenge. We expect the route and terrain to be challenging as per international standards and we look forward to the challenge."
The Indian Baja Rally, which is now in its second season, is all set to bring off-road racing's biggest name to India as the rally-raid has recently been nominated as one of the Dakar Challenge events.
With this event, the winner of the rally raid will get a free chance to compete in the 2017 Merzouga Rally followed by the 40th edition of the Dakar in 2018.
