Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS has recorded a slight fall in sales in January 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016.
TVS sold 2,07,059 units in the month of January 2017 compared to the 2,08,485 units sold in January 2016. The sales growth stood at a marginal negative figure of 0.68 percent.
In the two-wheeler department, TVS recorded a positive growth. The company sold 2,02,209 units in January 2017, whereas in January 2016 TVS sold 2,01,233 units. Out of which domestic two-wheeler sales accounted for 172,101 units.
The scooter sales witnessed a growth of 12 percent. TVS sold 70,049 scooters in January 2017 against the 62,552 units in the same period last year. Motorcycles sales figure stood at 60,275 units in January 2017.
TVS managed to sell 4,850 units of three-wheelers in January 2017 as compared to the 7,252 units in the same period of 2016.
Coming to the exports, TVS Motor exported a total of 34,110 units in January 2017 compared to the 34,823 units in the same month of last year. Two-wheeler exports stood at 30,108 units in January 2017.
