Indian two-wheeler manufacturer tvs motor Company is all set to launch its first fully faired motorcycle, the Apache RTR 310 in the Indian market.

According to a report from CarandBike, TVS is all geared up to launch the Apache RTR 310 in India in July 2017. The fully faired motorcycle is based on the Akula concept model showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The Apache RTR 310 is based on the same engine platform as the BMW G 310 R. The G 310 R is developed by BMW Motorrad and TVS.

TVS Apache RTR 310 draws power from a 313cc single cylinder engine producing 34bhp of power and 28Nm of peak torque. The same engine is deployed in the BMW G 310 R.

The Apache RTR 310 is locally manufactured at TVS Motor Company's Hosur plant. With the components being locally sourced, the motorcycle is expected to be aggressively priced.

The Akula concept model featured carbon fibre body and other high-end components. But the Apache RTR 310 will be built according to its price. The motorcycle is expected to get the compact frame, clip-on handlebars, performance tyres and dual-channel ABS.

When launched in India, the Apache RTR 310 is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 1.7 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The motorcycle will take on its segment rivals such as KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and soon to be launched Benelli 302R.
