Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster Debuts In India — Specs, Features & Images
Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster Debuts In India.
Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the Bonneville Speedmaster in India at the ongoing India Bike Week 2017. The new Speedmaster is a practical and versatile version of the Bobber with higher-spec components including brakes and suspension.
The 2018 Speedmaster is from the Triumph's global 'Modern Classic' category, unlike the previous versions that were launched under the cruiser portfolio.

The new Speedmaster shares most of the identity from the Bobber, but has its unique styling. Rather than dark Bobber Black, the bike shines with chrome and polished aluminium, with white contrast piping on the seats well complimented by the dual black and gold pinstripes on the two-tone paint scheme offered.

At the front, the round headlamp fits into a very traditional-looking nacelle rather than the more minimalist Bobber housing design. Like all the recent Triumphs, electronic features have not been left out. The Speedmaster gets throttle by wire, cruise and traction control, and switchable rain or road throttle maps.

In terms of differences, the Speedmaster comes with new 16-inch wire spoked wheels shod with specially developed Avon Cobra tyres. There are the two-step seat and bigger 12-litre fuel tank. To give the Speedmaster a retro-charm look, Triumph has added machined engine cooling fins, carburettor style throttle bodies, rubber fork gaiters and bronze badges.

Power to the Speedmaster comes from the same 1200cc 270-degree-crank, liquid-cooled parallel twin engine that does its duty on the T120 and the Bonneville Bobber. The unit churns out 76bhp @ 6,100rpm and 106Nm of torque @ 4,000rpm.

There is a range of kits to choose from Triumph's 'Maverick kit' and the 'Highway kit' along with over 130 accessories such as Vance & Hines exhaust. The Speedmaster is expected to be priced in India in the range of Rs 11 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.

DriveSpark Thinks!
The retro-modern-classic approach has worked well for Triumph, and the Speedmaster is one such endeavour to offer several choices to the buyer. The Speedmaster is a well-suited version for the Indian buyers looking for a Bobber along with a retro-design.
