2016 Dakar Champion Toby Price Crashes; Out Of Race
Toby Price has crashed, fracturing his left femur and will not be able to continue the race. Here’s complete details.
Toby Price, the 2016 Dakar Rally Champion has suffered injuries after a crash is now officially out of the 2017 rally. Price had to be air lifted to a hospital after sustaining injuries.
Australian rider Toby Price crashed at the 371km mark, and fractured his left femur. Later, organisers announced that he will not be able to continue the rally.
Toby Price won the 2016 Dakar Rally, taking his first career win and also the first victory for an Australian rider at the world's toughest motorsport, Dakar Rally.
For the 2017 edition of Dakar, Toby Price was one of the favourites, but the unfortunate crash has left him unable to continue the race.
Price's crash has gifted teammate and KTM Factory rider Matthias Walkner to take the stage win, the second in his career.
At the moment, after Stage 4, Pablo Quintanilla (Husqvarna) leads the race, followed by Matthias Walkner (KTM), and Stefan Svitko (KTM) in third.
