Suzuki Motorcycle currently sells commuter and sports bikes in the Indian market. Now, it looks like the two-wheeler maker is adding another new segment to it's Indian product portfolio.
Bike Advice reports that Suzuki may launch the GZ150 cruiser motorcycle in India. Currently, Suzuki retails the entry-level cruiser motorcycle in countries such as Vietnam and Colombia.
The Suzuki GZ150 draws power from a 149cc single cylinder; fuel injected engine producing 11.5bhp and 11.2Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle comes with disc up front and drum brake setup at the rear.
In the Colombian market, the Suzuki GZ 150 carries a price tag of 41,990,00 Peso (approximately Rs 89,000). So, if Suzuki manufactures the motorcycle in India, it will be slotted below the Gixxer SF FI which is priced at Rs 93,984 ex-showroom (Delhi).
As per emerging reports, a Suzuki dealer has stated that the company engineers have informed them about the new motorcycle and Suzuki's lubricant partner Motul has already examined the GZ150.
Suzuki is likely to launch the GZ150 in India by September 2017. The Suzuki GZ150 looks muscular and the panniers further enhance the cruiser appeal of the motorcycle.
Suzuki GZ150 is an entry-level cruiser motorcycle. When launched in India, the GZ150 will lock horns with the Bajaj Avenger Street 150. If Suzuki gets the pricing right, then the GZ150 will eat the chunk out of Bajaj Avenger's market share in India.
