Himalayan Chassis Snaps While Riding — Didn't Royal Enfield See This Coming?
Owner miraculously escaped unhurt from the crash.
A Royal Enfield Himalayan owner from Mumbai had a close call on his motorcycle when it's frame cracked whilst riding at about 30-40Kmph. Jason D'Souza, the owner of the motorcycle who managed to escape unhurt, is now seeking answers from the manufacturer.

After the engine, a frame is the most crucial component on a motorcycle and it's not meant to snap at any point in time. Even small flexes in the chassis can result in rider losing control of the bike.

Jason's motorcycle, which has clocked just 7,000 Kms on ODO, was purchased in June 2016. He is now contemplating legal action against Royal Enfield since he was asked to claim insurance for the damages.

Himalayan owners have been complaining about the poor build quality of the motorcycle. A consumer court has even asked Royal Enfield to refund a Himalayan owner who faced multiple issues.

Some say that it could be the result of heavy abuse rather than poor build quality. But we think "India's first true adventure motorcycle" should be able to withstand a few unexpected bumps.
