Royal Enfield Classic 500 Redditch Series To Enter UK Market
The Redditch series that is sold in India is based on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycles.
Royal Enfield is ready to launch the Redditch series-inspired Classic motorcycle in the UK in April 2017. According to a report by IndianAutosBlog, the motorcycles that are going to be sold in the UK will be based on the Euro-4 compliant Royal Enfield Classic 500.
The Redditch series that is sold in India is based on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycles. The new Classic 500 will feature rear disc brakes and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The Redditch series in India inherits the original paint schemes of the 50s-era Royal Enfield motorcycles.
At that time, the Royal Enfields were made in Redditch in the UK. Apart from the new persona, the model also gets Royal Enfield Redditch monogram which was first used in 1939 on a 125cc 2-stroke motorcycle, the ‘Royal Baby'.
The 346cc engine that is equipped on the India-spec model is capable of delivering 19.8bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. The motorcycle is offered in three colour options in the country, namely, Redditch Red, Redditch Green and Redditch Blue.
The Classic 500s that are going to be sold in the UK will get a 499cc fuel-injected motor that is tuned to deliver 27.2bhp of peak power at 5,250rpm and 41.3Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The engine will be also mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
