Production-Spec Hero Xtreme 200S Image Leaked; Launch Imminent?
Hero MotoCorp is all set to introduce the Xtreme 200S in the Indian market.
Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp is all set to enter the premium performance motorcycle segment with its Xtreme 200S.
Now, GaadiWaadi has got hold of a leaked image of the production-spec avatar of the Xtreme 200S, which looks similar to the concept model.

Hero MotoCorp showcased the Xtreme 200S as a concept model at the 2016 Auto Expo, and the overall design was simple and straightforward as compared to the current market trend. The production-spec motorcycle has not changed much and features identical design elements, except for subtle changes.

Up front, the Xtreme 200S features the same headlamp design as the concept model, but the intake of the tank shrouds are slightly smaller. The carbon-fibre finished side panels are replaced with black plastic.

Hero MotoCorp has also dropped the dual-tone stepped-up seat with a black single piece seat. The rear fender is short and sleek with a sharp rear profile. The naked motorcycle also comes with LED DRLs.

Powering the Hero Xtreme 200S is an all-new 200cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 18.2bhp and 17.2Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is based on the diamond frame chassis.

Apart from that, the Hero Xtreme 200S also comes with telescopic forks up front and monoshock suspension at the rear. Breaking duties are handled by discs at both the ends. The leaked image reveals an ABS ring at the front which indicates that Hero might offer single-channel ABS.

DriveSpark Thinks!
Hero MotoCorp has been a dominant player in the commuter motorcycle segment, but the Indian market is leaning towards the performance motorcycles. Now, Hero is looking to capture the premium market with its Xtreme 200S. The 200cc naked motorcycle will rival the likes of KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. The Hero Xtreme 200S is expected to be launched at the 2018 Auto Expo.
