Bajaj Not Impacted By Karnataka's Pillion Ride Ban — Here's Why
Bajaj says it will not be impacted by the ban on pillion ride in Karnataka.
The recent order by Karnataka government to ban pillion riding on two-wheelers with engine capacity of less than 100cc took many by surprise including buyers as well as manufacturers.
However, Bajaj Auto feels that it will not be impacted by the pillion ride ban in Karnataka. Here is why the manufacturer of several commuter bikes says that it will not be affected by the ban.

Bajaj's best-selling entry-level motorcycles like the Platina and CT100ES come with a displacement of more than 100cc and does not come under the purview of the ban.
"Bajaj Auto's motorcycles business does not get affected by this ban as our best-selling entry-level motorcycles like Platina and CT100 ES come with a displacement more than 100cc," Bajaj Auto Circle Head South Aswin Jaikanth said in a statement.

Additionally, Bajaj claims its motorcycles are designed keeping rider and pillion safety and stability in mind. Based on a 2015 court order, the Karnataka government has banned registration of new bikes with less than 100cc displacement.

DriveSpark Thinks!
While the pillion riding ban might impact bike manufacturers such as Bajaj Auto, the common man is affected immensely. Motorcycles with less than 100cc are entry-level bikes and are priced at an affordable cost, with the ban it is the common man who is impacted the most.
That said, safety is a priority, and we need to take utmost care while riding on roads which are riddled with potholes. Hope the government bans potholes as well.
