2018 BMW S1000RR Will Not Have Changes Shows CARB Filings
Recent CARB filings show that there will be no new BMW S1000RR for 2018, leaving fans disappointed.
One of the most-talked about upcoming sports bike is the 2018 BMW S1000RR. A revamped S1000RR was snapped several times undergoing tests, suggesting huge upgrades.
Sorry to burst the bubble, but as per latest filings with the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the emission figures of the new BMW S1000RR are the same as the 2017 model. Yes, you guessed it right, no updates with the engine.
The litre-class motorcycle from Germany underwent a mild refresh in 2015 since its introduction in 2009. Fans feel that the BMW S1000RR could benefit from an updated electronics package and better instrumentation.
Possibilities are that the German two-wheeler manufacturer could introduce the new motorcycle that was being tested as a 2019 model, which will be revealed in due course of time.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The BMW S1000RR has proved its mettle as a potent superbike, but a few details such as its instrumentation and electronics that need a bit more refinement have kept a few fans away. The Yamaha R1M has taken the top spot in this segment, and BMW now has a bit of catching up to do.
