As per emerging reports, both the Avenger Street and Cruise will feature several cosmetic upgrades, but all the mechanical components will be identical to the currently sold model. That said, Bajaj might be bringing in more features to take on the newly launched Suzuki Intruder 150.
One of the prominent updates of the new Avenger series will be the new digital instrument cluster housed inside the same classic single-pod unit. The fuel tank display will also be digital for a modern look. The cruise variant will also feature a bigger windscreen and a split seat setup.
The new Avenger will draw power from the existing 220cc single cylinder engine producing 19bhp and 17.5Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will be equipped with telescopic forks at the front and twin-shocks at the rear.
We expect Bajaj to offer single-channel ABS with disc brakes at both the ends. The new Avenger could also feature new decals and paint schemes to keep the Avenger series refreshed.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Bajaj has been a dominant player in the entry-level cruiser segment with the Avenger series for a very long time. But now, Bajaj is facing a stiff competition from the Suzuki Intruder 150 which comes with all the modern features. So, Bajaj has decided to give the Avenger an update in January 2018.
