Video: MV Agusta Reveals RVS #1 Cafe Scrambler
The first motorcycle under the Reparto Veicoli Speciali (RVS) program, the RVS #1 has been revealed by MV Agusta.
A video starting with the words - "We do not just build motorcycles. We engineer emotions". Sounds very good, doesn't it? We can imagine almost every motorcycle manufacturer saying the same thing or at least wanting to. However, when Giovanni Castiglioni, the President and CEO of MV Agusta says so, we better believe him.
MV Agusta has released a video through which it has revealed a new motorcycle through its 'Reparto Veilcoli Speciali' (RVS) program, which when translated into English, just means 'Special Vehicles Department'. What this is then, is not a brand new bike, it is almost like a customisation department launched by MV Agusta.
The Motorcycle, which MV Agusta has aptly named RVS #1 has been revealed through the video, is not brand new to be fair. It is very obvious that the RVS #1 is based on the MV Agusta Brutale 800.
What the motorcycle manufacturer from Italy has done is, taken the Brutale 800 (which in itself was a fairly good looking motorcycle), removed some parts and added lots of carbon-fibre and Titanium parts. The result is an astonishingly beautiful motorcycle prototype which embodies the looks of a cafe racer and a scrambler.
It is powered by the same 798cc, 3-cylinder engine as the Brutale 800, which revs up to 13,000rpm, producing a maximum power output of 125bhp and a maximum torque output of 81Nm. Details of whether it would feature a bump up in power on the RVS #1 are unavailable at the moment, but we wouldn't be surprised if it did.
Well, it is a prototype at the moment, but given that it is based on an existing production motorcycle, it should be fairly easy for MV Agusta to put this into production as well. However, we suspect that not many of these motorcycles will be built, and also that it would be a difficult task to get one of them.
The RVS #1 is the first motorcycle to come out of the RVS program, but might just not be the last. This is speculation at best, but there might be an RVS #2, RVS #3 or maybe even more coming. Prices for the RVS #1 have not yet been announced.
The Video also shows the designing and manufacturing of the RVS #1.
