The 2017 Ducati Desmosedici GP is equipped with a unique front suspension. Ducati and Ohlins have partnered to develop a new fork technology, the carbon fibre fork tubes.
The Ohlins carbon fibre forks can be seen on Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo's bikes. They are finished with matte black colour with golden ends.

The carbon fibre saves a lot of weight and also the flex of the front suspension can be tweaked. The conventional forks cannot be tuned for flex, which is its biggest drawback.
In a corner, a rider requires more feel when leant over. And the conventional forks fail to give enough feedback to the rider. So, carbon fibre fork tubes is a smart solution, as it can be tuned for flex in extreme lean angles.

It is not sure whether the Ohlins carbon fibre forks is the reason for Ducati's recent success in MotoGP. But Ducati has certainly improved its machine and is a step forward compared to the other teams.
