MotoGP: MegaRide Develops Software To Detect Tyre Wear

MegaRide, an Italian company, has developed software to detect tyre wear on MotoGP bikes. The software can also simulate tyre wear, and Ducati has signed an exclusive partnership with the company to gain a competitive edge over competitors.

The partnership with the Ducati team will last until the end of the 2018 season and will include the software to detect tyre wear. This will enable the team to fine-tune the motorcycle to gain wins.

Flavio Farroni, the CEO of MegaRide says, "Knowing, simulating, and tracking in-the-moment the behaviour of your vehicle is the key to acquiring a competitive edge linked to grip maximization on different surfaces and in multiple race conditions."

Nicolò Mancinelli, the Vehicle Dynamics Engineer at Ducati Corse, says, "Tyre Management Strategies is a key factor in achieving MotoGP results, especially in the last two seasons of the continuous technological evolution of racing. Collaboration with MegaRide is aimed at strengthening the development of these strategies."
