Kawasaki Versys-X 300 Launched In India; Priced At Rs 4.60 Lakh

The new Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is based on the tubular platform of the Z300. The adventure motorcycle draws power from a 296cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 38.4bhp and 27Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

The same engine is also deployed in the Kawasaki Ninja 300. But Kawasaki states that the engine is tuned for smooth, torquey power delivery at the low and mid-range and powerful acceleration at the top-end.

The adventure motorcycle is equipped with 41mm telescopic forks up front and monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 290mm petal disc at the front and 220mm disc at the back. Dual-channel ABS is offered as an option. The Versys-X 300 is shod with 19-inch front, and 17-inch rear spoke wheels to handle the rough stuff. The fuel tank capacity stands at 17-litre which is good for touring.

The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 also features new heat management technology which dissipates the hot air away from the rider and also helps to keep the tank and frame of the motorcycle cool which translates to a comfortable ride even in high temperatures.

The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 will be brought to India through CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and it will be assembled at the Chakan plant in Pune. The bookings for the motorcycle is open and can be booked through Kawasaki dealerships across the country.

The Versys-X 300 is the smallest offering in the adventure touring segment from the stable of Kawasaki. The motorcycle is targeted towards buyers who are looking for an affordable small capacity adventure bike. Currently, in India, the only rival for the Versys-X 300 is the Royal Enfield Himalayan which comes at a much lower price tag. The upcoming BMW G 310 GS and the KTM 390 Adventure will also rival the baby adventure motorcycle.
