India Kawasaki Motor has launched its touring motorcycle Versys 650 in India with a price tag of Rs 6.60 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).

Kawasaki introduced the Versys 650 back in 2015; the 2017 Versys 650 gets new colour scheme and decals, a BSIV compliant engine and a gear position indicator.

The 2017 Versys 650 was launched alongside Kawasaki India's new line-up including the new Z900, Ninja 650 and Z650. The bike maker also launched its smallest Ninja, the 2017 Ninja 300 with cosmetic updates and BS-IV compliance for the new year.

The new Versys 650 maintains the same design and styling as the current model but now receives the green and black paint scheme in place of the all-black paint job. The fairing on the 2017 Versys 650 now carries the massive 'Versys' decal running across till the fuel tank.

The alloy wheels on the 2017 Versys 650 now comes with a neon green pinstripe to suit the bodywork.

The 2017 Kawasaki Versys 650 retains the same powertrain. The tourer uses a BSIV compliant 649cc parallel twin cylinder engine churning out 68bhp and 64Nm of torque.
The powertrain is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, while the suspension duties on the Versys is performed by the 41mm inverted telescopic forks at the front and the rear is an offset monoshock setup with remote spring adjustable preload.

Kawasaki had equipped the Versys 650 with the ABS right from the start and continues to do so in the new model as well.
The 2017 Kawasaki Versys 650 will compete with the likes of the Benelli TNT600 GT, Triumph Tiger 800 among others. The Versys 650 will continue to be assembled locally in the country.
