Indian Chieftain Elite And Chieftain Limited Revealed
Indian Chieftain Elite is top-of-the-line Chieftain and receives custom paint shade with 7-inch infotainment screen, while the Indian Chief Limited gets more style, more features.
Indian Motorcycle has revealed two new models for 2017 - the Indian Chieftain Elite and the Chieftain Limited expanding its Chieftain model lineup by two.
Indian Chieftain Elite is top-of-the-line Chieftain and receives custom paint shade with 7-inch infotainment screen, while the Indian Chief Limited gets more style and features.
Both motorcycles are powered by Indian's same V-stroke Thunderstroke 111 engine which powers the entire Chief and Chieftain series.
The v-twin makes 135Nm of peak torque. Indian Motorcycle's Chieftain Elite will be a limited edition model, and only 350 of these will be sold worldwide.
"With the Chieftain Elite we wanted to design the most premium, feature-packed Chieftain we could possibly imagine," said Reid Wilson, Director of Marketing, Indian Motorcycle. "In the end, I think the bike exceeded even our own expectations. It's an absolute show-stopper."
The Chieftain Elite features a custom paint job executed entirely by hand at Indian Motorcycle's paint facility in South Dakota. It took over 25 hours to hand paint each bike by a specialised team, and no two Chieftain Elites look similar.
The Chieftain Elite receives a Pathfinder LED headlight, driving lights and a flared, powered windshield.
The floorboards for the rider and passenger are made from billet aluminium. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system has customisable information displays with simple, easy to use software and the 200-watt sound system offers excellent sound.
The Indian Chieftain Limited retains the signature Chieftain design language albeit with a stripped-down front fender and a new 19-inch front wheel and 16-inch rear wheel for better ride and handling.
Braking prowess is handled by the dual 300mm front discs with four-piston callipers along with standard ABS. It also features remote lockable saddlebags, power windscreen, tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control.
The touchscreen infotainment screen on the Chieftain Limited allows pinch and swipe functions as well as a navigation system and a 100-watt audio system.
