Honda Eyeing The Adventure Motorcycle Segment — Plans To Launch Honda XRE 300 In India
Honda will soon launch the XRE 300 adventure motorcycle in India and here's what we can expect when it comes to India.
The sub-500cc adventure motorcycle segment is a place to exploit and with the announcement of KTM's adventure model, BMW's G 310 GS, and the Kawasaki Versys 300, Honda too is betting big.
As per reports, Honda is looking to launch the XRE 300 adventure motorcycle in India soon. The XRE 300 will be launched as part of Honda's new launches lined up for India.
Hero MotoCorp already explored the segment with the Impulse, which is now discontinued after dwindling sales. The segment at the moment is dominated by the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which too is facing a lot of criticism.
Coming back to the Honda XRE 300, the motorcycle will be powered by a 291cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that will make 25bhp and 27Nm of torque, with the help of a 5-speed gearbox.
To suit the XRE 300's purpose, Honda offers the motorcycle with long travel suspension, dies brakes for the front and rear, under seat mounted exhaust and an upright seating position.
Pricing is not revealed yet, but Honda has to get the cost right if the motorcycle is to become a success. Honda products have suffered from being overpriced in the past, and hopefully, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer gets it right this time — hopefully under Rs 2.2 lakh.
