Hero MotoCorp’s Next-Gen Karizma In The Works
World's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp is working on the next-gen Karizma motorcycle.
India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has already revealed about its aggressive product strategy in 2018.
The company will be entering the premium performance motorcycle segment with its Xtreme 200S. Now, BikeWale reports that Hero MotoCorp is developing the next-gen Karizma.
Hero MotoCorp's flagship brand, Karizma was discontinued from the Indian market a few years ago due to poor sales and depleting brand value. But the official website of the company still lists the Karizma ZMR. Now, Hero is planning to revive the brand with new design and features.

The report suggests that the design and engineering team of Hero MotoCorp are working on the new-gen Karizma which will be retailed in India and foreign markets. But the new motorcycle will not be launched for the next two years.
The new Karizma is likely to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo in India. The next-gen Karizma should be equipped with BS-VI compliant engine as the new emission norms will come into effect from 2020.
The first-generation Hero Karizma was a hit in the Indian market with its simple design and touring capabilities, and it was also a good city bike as well. But the second-gen Karizma R and ZMR jointly developed with Erik Buell Racing failed to click. The main reason behind this was the design which was considered as a downgrade from the first-gen bike.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Hero MotoCorp has been a leading player in the commuter motorcycle segment but has failed to make an impact in the performance segment. Now, Hero is looking to revive the Karizma brand with new design and features. The company is aiming to replicate the success of the first-gen model. We expect the new Karizma to hit the market by 2020.
