Harley-Davidson Appoints New Managing Director For India Operations
Peter MacKenzie has been appointed as Managing Director of Harley-Davidson India.
Harley-Davidson India today announced the appointment of Peter MacKenzie as its Managing Director. MacKenzie will assume the role along with his current role as MD for Greater China.
MacKenzie will continue to be based out of Shanghai, China and will travel to India extensively to oversee India operations. However, Manish Agarwal, Country Manager, will be providing full support to operations in India on a day-to-day basis.
The new MD of Harley-Davidson India will manage the country's leadership team responsible for in-country sales, dealer network management, marketing, service, and operations activities to expand the company's presence in the country.
Peter MacKenzie joined the American bike maker in 2010 and will bring almost 25 years of business development experience in the automotive industry. Harley-Davidson says that he has consistently demonstrated an innovative and analytical approach to problem-solving, as well as successfully driven productivity, sales, and profitability.
Marc McAllister, vice president and managing director, International Markets said, "India is a strategic market for us in line with our company strategy to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders globally."
"I am confident that MacKenzie will provide strong leadership to the team to grow the reach and impact of our brand, as we expand our dealership network in the country to support our business and give loyal and new customers greater access to our brand,"
Harley-Davidson retails a broad range of motorcycles in India beginning with the Street 750 to the CVO Limited.
