The 2017 Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally is scheduled to take place on July 2, in Mumbai. The popular motorsport, which is exclusive to scooters will take place in Navi Mumbai.
As per the organisers - Sportscraft - 25 participants have confirmed their entry, including Syed Asif Ali from Bhopal, who won last year's event and Shamim Khan, the runner-up from last year's race from Nashik.
The endurance race will be a tough one for competitors, as the monsoon has set in. The course will be set in a virtual marshland, and the race is no walk-in-the-park. Both, Syed Asif and Shamim have won the race four times in the past.
For the 2017 season of the Gulf Monsoon Rally, team TVS will be part of the race, along with Sailesh Gala, the 54-year-old veteran who has been part of almost all the races in the past. He will be racing this year along with his son Nikunj and daughter Priya.
This year's race will also see first timers participate and the rally is sure to have its fair share of surprises and events for veterans and novice riders.
The Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally has managed to be recognised by the Limca Book of Records and has proved to the base of many emerging Indian riders. We wish the sport sees a lot of success over the coming years.
