Bookings Open For Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Equipped With ABS
Bookings for the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS have begun at a few select dealerships. Though Bajaj has not yet official launched the motorcycle in the Indian market, bookings can be made by paying Rs 5,000
The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has been one of the most popular bikes ever to be launched in the Indian market. There is no doubt about the capabilities of this motorcycle, but there was something it lacked, till now.
The Pulsar NS200 in the Indian market wasn't equipped with ABS. The same motorcycle sold in various foreign markets feature ABS. Well, customers in the Indian market would not have to feel shortchanged anymore.
Bookings for the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS have begun at a few select dealerships. Though Bajaj has not yet official launched the motorcycle in the Indian market, a dealer in Mumbai has started accepting bookings for the same with a token amount of Rs 5,000.
Exact pricing details of the motorcycle has not been made available, but it has been rumored to be priced at Rs 1.09 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Exclusive Bajaj dealership located in Malad, Mumbai confirmed that the on-road price of the motorcycle would work out to around Rs 1.25 lakh.
The rumor mill held that the updated version of the NS200 would also feature fuel injection. A photograph of a Pulsar NS200 with ‘FI' decals too surfaced on the internet. However that picture was of a motorcycle in Turkey, as it was launched there with ABS and FI earlier this year.
Contrary to these rumors, the updated NS200 will not feature fuel injection. It would be fueled by the same carburetor used currently, as confirmed by the dealership.

The Pulsar NS200 ABS is equipped with a single channel ABS system just like the one used in its sibling, the Pulsar RS200.
A single-channel ABS system is one in which only one of the two wheels is equipped with ABS. Only the front wheel on the Pulsar NS200 and RS200 is equipped with ABS. This way Bajaj can keep costs down, while still equipping the motorcycle to an extent.
Apart from this, the motorcycle remains the same mechanically. It continues to be powered by the liquid-cooled, 199.5cc, triple-spark engine. It produces 23.5bhp of power and 18.3Nm of torque which is then transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.
The Pulsar NS200 ABS variant would look exactly like the one without ABS, but would feature an ABS decal.
Bookings have started only at select dealerships in the Mumbai region. Bookings across the country are expected to start in a phased manner, leading up to the launch. Deliveries in the Mumbai region are expected to start next week.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 was a capable motorcycle which sold very well. Now with ABS, it isn't just wonderful to ride, but very safe as well.
