German motorcycle manufacturer BMW Motorrad will organise the Indian national qualifier for the International GS Trophy in Goa from October 26-29, 2017.
The best three participants of the Indian national qualifier will go forward as a team to represent India in the final at the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2018 in Mongolia.
The top three riders will be fully equipped by BMW Motorrad for the final and will be presented a brand new personalised BMW GS motorcycle to ride for the duration of the event. Registration for the Indian national qualifier is open for all BMW GS Motorcycle owners in India.
The BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2018 will be held in Mongolia for ten days, with seven days of riding, two days of in and outbound journey and one day of briefing. The GS Trophy is not a race, but the special stages will challenge the mental and physical strength of the participants.
The riders will enjoy a nearly-2000km off-road adventure ride and will face a series of challenges to test the riding and navigational skills. The Indian national qualifier will be held every two years in India, and it is open to all non-professional BMW GS Motorcycle riders.
The Indian national qualifier typically replicates the challenges of the International GS Trophy and will be multi-day competition. The winning team will compete against the teams from around the globe at the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy - Central Asia 2018 in Mongolia.
President of BMW Group India, Vikram Pawah said, "The GS Trophy is a celebration of the spirit of the BMW GS motorcycle, bringing together those elements of leisure, adventure and challenge that this bike engenders."
The BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy will test the riding, navigation and teamwork of the competitors. The top three riders from India will represent the country in the finals and will compete against the best riders of different countries.
