BMW Motorrad To Debut At India Bike Week 2017 — To Launch Two Bikes

BMW Motorrad will showcase 14 bikes including BMW S 1000 RR, BMW R 1200 R, BMW S 1000 R, BMW R nineT, BMW R nineT Scrambler, BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, BMW R 1200 GS, BMW S 1000 XR, BMW K 1600 GTL, BMW R 1200 RT, the new BMW K 1600 B and the new BMW R nineT Racer.

Enthusiasts and customers can discover all the latest models from BMW Motorrad, interact with experts and experience one of their dream machines up close and personal at the BMW Motorrad pavilion. An exclusive VIP zone, R nine T Café Bar, and BMW Motorrad Beer Garden will keep the motorcycling enthusiasts enthralled during the motorcycle festival.

The BMW Motorrad K 1600B is powered by an inline-six, 1649cc engine producing 160bhp and 175Nm of torque. The touring motorcycle comes with three riding modes: Dynamic, Road and Rain, which adjust ABS, throttle response and traction control settings according to each configuration.

While the Dynamic riding more offers the most aggressive throttle response and least intervention from ABS and traction control, the Rain mode provides the most relaxed throttle response, along with the most intrusive ABS and TC.

Among the features, the BMW K 1600B instrument console includes a standard 5.7-inch full-colour TFT display; however, navigation, satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity may be offered as optional.

As for the BMW R Nine T Racer, the model will join the modern classic range, which boasts of the BMW R Nine T and BMW R Nine T Scrambler in India. The BMW R Nine T Racer is a cafe racer with a half-fairing and rear cowl.

While the R Nine T Racer will share the platform of the BMW R Nine T, the cafe racer will lose some of the high-end parts including the aluminium fuel tank which is replaced by steel fuel tank, and the upside down forks makes way for the conventional telescopic forks.

Also, the braking duty is carried out by the regular four-piston calipers instead of the radially mounted Monobloc calipers on the BMW R Nine T.

The BMW R Nine T Racer is powered by the 1,170 cc boxer engine which produces 110bhp and 116Nm of torque. The bike features modern-day components such as BMW's Automatic Stability Control and anti-lock brakes.
